What's Up Wednesday

I'm linking up with Shay, Mel and Sheaffer and sharing What's Up!

{WHAT WE'RE EATING THIS WEEK}

This soup from Skinnytaste (we had this last night, yum!)
Breakfast for Dinner

{WHAT I'M REMINISCING ABOUT}

Bryce's first year!
 I.cant.even.
This popped up on my time hop the other day
I was just twoweeks from Bryce arriving! It feels like yesterday.

We are having a small family party next weekend and my boy is gonna love him some cake! #mamasboy

{WHAT I'M LOVING}

Ok. So, total guilty pleasure. Over the blizzard I was snowed in with my good friend, Teresa. We needed some mindless TV to binge watch and I got totally hooked on this show. What can I say...I love a good high school drama.

{WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO}

I blogged about our weekend and the snowpocalype here #andnowiveblockeditoutofmymind #forever

{WHAT I'M DREADING}

School being out all week. Bryce and I love our preschool mornings to run errands alone. Man, things are so much easier to get done with just one little! All errands have been moved to next week.

{WHAT I'M WORKING ON}

I started my January with a goal to get healthy #alongwiththerestoftheworld
I've been doing Weight Watchers and I'm really loving the plan so far! I pinned this the other day and got to work making my lunches for the week!

{WHAT I'M EXCITED ABOUT}

Eric and I are planning a trip to Mexico in March! I think we are going to stay here

#helloparadise

{WHAT I'M WATCHING/READING}

My MOPs group is having a book club this month and we are reading this book! I can't wait to dive in!

{WHAT I'M LISTENING TO}

I have these two songs on repeat:

Alessia Cara: Here

Carrie Underwood: Heartbeat

{WHAT I'M WEARING}

I've been wearing a puffy vest so far this winter...but last weekend it got serious. I had to bring out my trusty North Face. They make the warmest jackets!

{WHAT I'M DOING THIS WEEKEND}

We don't have any big plans this weekend. I am working Friday night shift and then we'll probably spend the weekend catching up on our todo list.

{WHAT I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH}

Eric's birthday usually gets lumped in with Valentine's Day since it's the day before. This year we are dropping the kids at my parent's for the weekend and heading to the city!

Fancy hotel #check
 Dinner reservations #check
Sleeping in #check

Can't wait to spend a mini weekend away with my main man!

{WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE VALENTINE'S DAY TREAT}
I don't really have a favorite Valentine's Day Treat. I love chocolate covered strawberries! I need to look on Pinterest for a fun treat to make my favorite guys this year!

Weekend Wrap Up: Snowmagedon 2016 Edition

What a weekend!

We survived. But it wasn't pretty.

Last week the news was going crazy talking about a big snow storm on our way. I work every weekend, and this storm just so happened to fall right on a weekend. When there is a big snow storm, nurses are expected to show up to their shift, as scheduled. One of my best girlfriends lives across the street from the hospital and we agreed that I should get snowed in with her!

When I got to her house Friday Night, there was already about an inch of snow on the ground! We walked to the town center for dinner and spicy Margaritas at Bar Taco!

Our walk back to her condo was cold and snowy!

We settled in with all of the essentials for being snowed in! Wine, iPads, magazines. brownies and the local news forecast!

Saturday morning Eric sent me this picture of Nathan in the snow! He was loving every minute!

Meanwhile...Teresa and I were making fresh orange mimosas

Eric kept me pretty updated on my little guys! I had bought Nathan a bunch of fun snacks and treats for the weekend. He loved the cereal!

Saturday Night with my crew! I had planned to walk to the hospital but it turned out the snow was up to my knees and it was almost impossible to walk. We had some great volunteers who picked up nurses around the area to make sure we could all get safely to work.

Sunday, Eric's uncle Brad came and picked me up and drove me home. We couldn't make it down the culd-a-sac in his jeep because it hadn't seen a plow yet. Crazy! My neighbor used a snow plow so there was a path from the main road to our house. That's our snowy house, and this is as close as any car could get to it.

Reunited! Nathan was SO excited to tell me all of his stories from the weekend in the snow!

On Monday Eric went to pick up our car at Teresa's house. He brought me back a little piece of civilization #starbucks

Our neighbors were such a great help to Eric with clearing all of the snow! I made them some homemade Pineapple Banana Bread and brought it over to them still warm...yum!

Unfortunately the end of the storm...means the end of seeing this guy nonstop on the news conferences. I can't be the only one loving his serious reports!
My girl friend, Erin made me this meme #becauseweareteenagers

That was all the snow I can handle for this year #bringonspring

{Friday Favorites}

I have to be honest.

this.week.hurt.

Nathan came home from school last week with a little cough and it cycled it's way through the house at rapid speed. I'm not sick that often, and it totally slipped my mind that moms don't get sick days. I desperately wanted to just lay in bed for days.

Well.
We survived.
Moving on to my favorites of the week!
#nyquil

{One}

What is it with boys?! Even his Mr. Potato Head had to be a "bad guy".

{Two}

#allthedrugs
I bought "Theraflu" green tea with honey and drank that every morning. It's a favorite. #howsadismyweek

{Three}

I started putting up some Valentine's Day decorations! I found this cute wood banner on Targets dollar spot for $3. Such a steal!

{Four}

I totally forgot this little stage. The "cooking dinner with someone attached to your leg" stage. He's lucky he's cute!

{Five}

Northern Va is expecting a BIG snow storm this weekend. People have been going a little crazy over the last couple of days stocking up on all the essentials.
I can't help but laugh at this picture.

Supposedly.. If the forecast is right we are looking at over two feet for this area. That will shut everything in the area down for approximately two months. #notreally #butkindof

I am working at the hospital Saturday night, so I'm leaving my three guys behind and camping out at my good friend Teresa's for the weekend. She happens to live in a quiet condo walking distance from the hospital #imsleepingin #pinchme

Weekend Wrap Up

{Friday}

On the weeks that I work Friday Night Shift, my Father in Law watches Nathan for a couple hours at his house. I caught this cute pictures of them looking out the windows waiting for Pap-Pap to get here. Bryce will basically do anything that Nathan does!

Bryce is a big eater. I mean he LOVES food. He'll eat anything and you can't have anything to yourself when this kid is around #bestdietever #eathalfmyfood

Friday night I got put on call at work so I got to hang with Eric and then got to go to bed! They called me at 2am to come in. So I did a quick little 5 hours at the hospital and then came home to sleep.

{Saturday}

Saturday we celebrated this sweet girl's 3rd Birthday! Poor Nathan was sick with some sort of cold, so I made him stay home so that he didn't spread his germs. Gracie is Nathan's very best friend, they love playing wrestling together.

Gracie has the cutest little baby cousin. The look on my face says it all #mamawantsanother
It's amazing how you forget so quickly just how tiny they were. #babyfever

While Bryce and I were at the birthday party, Eric took Nathan to Wegmans to grab dinner. He loves taking Nathan to eat there, it's a lot of families with young kids just getting out of the house on the weekends.

They even have this cute little area with cartoons and tables to the kids to sit at. It's a little piece of sanity during these cold winter days.

{Sunday}

On Sunday we headed to the Apple Store to get Eric's iPhone screen fixed. Apple has it all figured out. They have iPad's at a little kids table to keep them busy while you're getting your phone fixed.

While we were getting the phone fixed we grabbed some lunch at Panera. No pictures of that show. #sorrytoeveryoneatpanera. My kids aren't really "eat out" kids.

Once the phone was fixed, we headed home for nap time and Eric and I spent HOURS trying to figure out where we want to stay in Mexico when we go away March. I mean hours! We ended our research no closer to an actual decision.

{FRIDAY FAVORITES }

It's Friday! I'm linking up and sharing my favorites

{One}
Eric has been working long hours lately. It's been the hardest on Nathan...he is such a big daddy's boy. So Thursday Eric stayed home a little later in the morning and took Nathan on a little breakfast date and then to school. It's all Nathan could talk about all day. #meltmyheart

{Two}
Last week I finally bit the bullet and bought a real.adult.camera. As the boys are getting older and busier, it's almost impossible to get a picture where one of them isn't blurry. So now I just need someone to come over and teach me how to use it #somanybuttons and then i'll be all set!

{Three}
A couple weeks ago, I started Weight Watchers. Ya know, if it's good enough for Oprah...it's good enough for me. I've been doing a lot of stuffed pepper recipes for dinner. One of my favorites is a lightened up version of this recipe. I skipped the oil and cut down the cheese to just 1 slice per pepper.

{Four}
This was such a fun thing to do at the end of the year! It took my most liked instagram photos and put them all together. I loved seeing some of my favorite moments all put together. You can follow me on Instagram here. It's my favorite place to post pics of our day to day life.

{Five}
I have a serious love for Adele #whodoesnt. This was circling around Facebook yesterday and I was dyinggggg. Now I've added "go to England and run into Adele" to my to-do list #dreambig.

{Life Lately}

Life around here has slowed down quite a bit now that the holidays are over. Here's what we've been up to lately!

Our Brycie got his first professional hair cut! He sat on Eric's lap and just looked around.
#bestillmyheart #goodbyerattail

A couple weekends ago we had our good friends and their kids over for dinner. Nathan and Gracie were just wild! We finally sat them down and gave them a cookie and a show. #workseverytime

Yesterday my mother in law came by to see the boys and kicked me out of the house!
I snuck away and got a pedicure!  She sent me a text while I was on my way home saying "We are doing beautifully, stay away!" I did a couple more errands and stopped for lunch! It was such a great little break!

Paraffin wax and hot tea

Fresh nails and a diet lemonade

He claimed he didn't miss me at all!

Nathan is fighting nap time lately. I've had to get a little creative to keep him in his room for at least long enough for me to get a couple things done around the house. I'm pinning some "quiet time" activities to keep him quiet and happy in his room.
